Air nozzles can be used to control the air flow at the dashboard of every passenger car.
This component consists of a plurality of plastic parts (fins, control wheels, etc.) which need to be assembled.
This is done in an assembly line with integrated robot cells.
A double belt system is used to interlink automatic and manual
workstations. Fins are greased in a robot cell, and placed into the
product carrier. The connecting link is also inserted automatically.
Casing and control wheels are assembled manually and semiautomatically after this.
To enhance crash safety, casing parts are welded by ultrasound.
After final assembly, the parts are checked for completeness and marked using an inkjet.
Continuous process monitoring is ensured by a master computer. The
central product carrier control provides access to all product area
data at any time, and allows their statistical evaluation. A graphic
process display supports easy-to-use and menu-assisted operator control
and maintenance for the plant.
